How to Make the Most of 2025

Imagine looking back at 2025 and knowing it was the year everything changed for you. What if this time your resolutions actually became a reality?

At the start of each year, many people set their New Year’s Resolutions. But by the end of the year, about 90% of people have given up.

So how should you go about setting your resolutions to give you the best chance at achieving your goals and changing your life?

Well below we’ll dive into some tips to create the best resolutions and how to start actually achieving them. This goes for fitness goals and any other goals you may have.

1. Define Your 2025 Vision

The first step in giving yourself the best chance is to be specific about the goals you set. You can do this by answering these questions:

  • What does success look like for you?

  • Why is this goal important to you?

  • What are the non-negotiables that you need to allow time for?

  • When do you want to complete this by?

Answering these questions can help you to get a better idea of what you truly want, why you want it and what the path forward will look like.

Once you’ve done this, we can move on to step 2.

2. Build a Routine You Can Stick To

You’re the only person that knows your schedule, so you’re the only person that can build the right routine for you.

You already know the non-negotiables that you need to do, so build your routine around these. It helps to prioritise your activities so that you know which things you should and shouldn’t miss out on.

Something that’s really helped me is using a planner to add some more structure to my life. This way I know when I have to do things and when I can relax a bit. 

Tip: Make sure to give yourself enough time to rest and recover within your schedule!

3. Create a Healthy Environment for Yourself

Your physical health is the foundation for achieving your goals and living your best life, so you should take it seriously. By getting in some movement and having a balanced diet, you’ll have more energy to achieve your goals.

Start small by making some small and manageable changes like:

  • Take a 15 minute walk after work

  • Swap a sugary snack with some fruit

  • Do 10 minutes of light yoga in the morning

It doesn’t matter how or when you exercise, the important thing is just doing something consistently.

4. Find a Community 

Going at it alone is always harder than doing things with others.

Joining local clubs, inviting family or friends and using apps like Strava to connect with others can make these activities more enjoyable and help you stick to them.

Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and share your goals. You’ll be surprised by how much joy and motivation you can get from the community you build.

5. Celebrate Every Win

Make sure you celebrate every milestone you make throughout the year, no matter how small.

Now celebrating doesn’t mean throwing yourself a party for every milestone you make. It could just be something as simple as treating yourself to a relaxing night.

With this you’ll be able to look back on how much progress you’ve made, which will help you to stay on track and not lose motivation.

Every year is filled with potential, and you have everything you need to turn that potential into a reality. By setting clear goals, staying consistent and focusing on balance, you can create a sustainable routine for success that will last you far longer than just one year.

The journey is about progress, not perfection. Start where you are with what you have and do what you can.
